To express the architecture that is conceptualized as a series of gardens and courtyards, this film investigates the layering of views to capture the qualities of the residual threshold transitional spaces within White House Park. The film starts by framing the exterior spaces of open courtyards, gradually moving into the semi-open corridors, and finally into the secluded private interiors of the house. The film works with the interplay between the light and dark scenes, capturing the graduation of shadows within the spaces between courtyards.
